Toshiba Canvio 3.0 Portable Hard Drives comes with SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Interface



USB 3.0 is the way of the future and Toshiba knows it, which is why the Japanese tech giant has come up with the Toshiba Canvio 3.0 Portable Hard Drive which will be equipped with a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface to get you off the ground flying. USB 3.0 will basically deliver up to 10 times the speed of a USB 2.0 drive, albeit without having to balloon your cost substantially. Depending on your storage needs, the Canvio 3.0 will be able to cater them in three different sizes – which are 500GB, 750GB and 1TB. Nice to know you need not worry about anything else such as software installation as well as pesky cable connections, since the Canvio 3.0 is full plug-and-play, boasting pre-loaded backup software as well as backwards compatibility with personal computers and other devices equipped with USB 2.0 ports.

This will be the latest addition to Toshiba’s Canvio portable hard drive family, and those who are familiar with it won’t find it hard to get off the ground once the Canvio 3.0 is unboxed. According to Manuel Camarena, product manager for consumer storage at Toshiba Storage Device Division, “Power digital consumers, and even typical PC users, are storing high definition video content, high resolution digital images, and multi-gigabyte music collections. When you consider that a single HD video can easily be three times the size of the same video in standard definition, it’s easy to see why file transfer speeds are just as important as storage capacity. With the integration of the USB 3.0 interface, Canvio 3.0 drives significantly improve file transfer performance for large media files and dramatically minimize the wait time for backup and recovery processes.”

As we mentioned earlier, the Canvio 3.0 will come in 500GB, 750GB and 1TB capacities which will retail for $119.99, $129.99 and $179.99, respectively, if you decide to bring one home. Aesthetically speaking, the Canvio 3.0 is definitely worth looking into, since it comes in a pocket-sized, rounded rectangular form factor with rubberized edges and high gloss black finish with red, green, blue, white, or silver graphical accents. All product packaging used are made out of 100% recyclable materials, so those who have a heart for the environment might want to consider a purchase in the near future.

Change your bike’s gears, with your mind

Lately, I have been teaching my son to ride a bicycle, and it reminds me of my days of awkward bike riding. I remember that I had a hard time with changing the gears, but what if I could do it with my mind? Parlee Cycles is apparently working on a concept bicycle made of carbon fiber that does just that. It is part of Toyota Prius Projects, and it uses a helmet equipped with neurotransmitters to read a wearer’s brainwaves. A wireless transmitter attached to the bike’s seat post gets the signal, and changes the gear. As you might of guessed, this is still a concept. In fact, the developer hasn’t quite got the brain control working and still using a smartphone for the controls. I have heard of neuro-controls being used before, but I am guessing the technology isn’t quite as good as Bluetooth. iMM514 ArtStation Pro

I’ve seen some products from iLuv before, and the iMM514 ArtStation Pro is good for turning an iPad into a home theater. As you can see, the iPad is mounted in an articulated swiveling arm so you can position it at whatever angle you want, in landscape or portrait mode. In case you are wondering why there is such a big base, it is because it has a huge stereo speaker. In other words, this base has bass. There is also a wireless remote for volume and skipping tracks, and it looks like there are some controls on the base for when you lose the remote. As I mentioned before, iLuv has put out a lot of Apple accessories, and I will have to admit that this is one of the most unusual that I have seen. In fact, I am not even sure what kind of aesthetic that this is. The arm thing reminds me of Technic Lego pieces. I suppose the case is like a big Lego brick without and studs on it. Nice.
