Visual Assist Dartboard

Image
Love a round of darts with your mate? It gets all the more tense if you’re into betting, especially after downing a few rounds of Guinness at the local pub. For those who want an edge over their opponents, practice is the key here. The $199.95 that you fork out for the Visual Assist Dartboard might just be recouped after a few rounds of darts at the local tavern, as this electronic dartboard is capable of illuminating sections of its surface as a game progresses in order to assist players in scoring. It relies on bright LEDs to illuminate different segments of the board, where the dartboard will suggest the fastest way to zero points during games of 301, 501, and 701. Pretty smart for what used to be a dumb board, huh? Not only that, it comes with additional games such as Blackjack, Count Up, and Treasure Hunt, where players will have to place a guess on where a secret “treasure” is buried simply by targeting each segment. The whole board will illuminate when the treasure

Optoma GT100 Mini Projector

Image
Mini projectors haven’t really caught on ever since they were introduced to the masses some time ago, and we’re guessing that’s because there really isn’t a deep rooted need for one of these puppies. Well, that doesn’t mean manufacturers will stop churning out such devices, otherwise we wouldn’t have the £229.99 Optoma GT100 Mini Projector to play around with. Capable of throwing an image of up to 75-inches in size, the Optoma GT100 will play nice with just about any video game console, set top box, DVD players, notebooks as well as other compatible devices onto any flat surface. The brightness level needs some looking into though at just 50 lumens, which means your room will need to be pretty dark – otherwise your audience will be treated to washed otu colors. Apart from that, external speakers are a must if you’re watching a movie on this thing since the integrated 1.5w speaker isn’t going to add much ambience to the whole situation. Seagate goes green with latest Barracuda Green hard drive

Image
As you can tell by its name, the latest Seagate Barracuda Green hard drive has a heart for our environment. Yes, years after the hard drive industry has added countless toxins to Mother Nature, Seagate has recently developed a conscience that delivers technology without resulting in Greenpeace activists protesting outside of their offices. OK, so we’re kidding about that part, but you do get the point, right? The Seagate Barracuda Green hard drive is the industry’s highest performance eco-friendly 3.5-inch desktop drive that is meant for low-power personal computers, multi-drive home networking systems and external PC storage. Apart from offering environmental improvements in power consumption and material usage, these drives will also be among the first hard drives from Seagate that come with SmartAlign technology. The Barracuda Green hard drive is also known as the Barracuda LP if you were to have a sense of continuity, where it will merge the industry’s highest spin

Hitachi releases three more 3TB drives

Image
Hitachi certainly knows that with the proliferation of High Definition movies, it makes perfect sense for people to run out of hard drive space faster than ever. Well, in order to make sure that doesn’t happen to you, Hitachi has decided to roll out a trio of 3TB drives that ought to capture your fancy, regardless of your needs or budget. First off, we have the new 3TB Hitachi Deskstar Internal Hard Drive Kit that breaks the 2.2TB capacity limit on 32- bit Windows XP systems without the need for additional hardware, while the 3TB Hitachi XL USB 2.0 drive offers reliable, high quality external storage and backup. Last but not least? The 3TB Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 and 5K3000 hard drive families which has begun to ship to OEMs and the Channel for System Builders and Value Added Resellers. We will look at all these hard drives in greater detail right after the jump. The Hitachi Deskstar Internal Hard Drive Kit has been touted to be the perfect gift for that special someone

Misa Digital’s Kitara is a guitar with a touchscreen for strings

Image
I think we all know that RockBand and Guitar Hero has changed the way that we look at guitars. Considering that these guitar games are played with strumming bars and push-button frets, it certainly paved the way for Kitara. Kitara from Misa Digital also has a very non-traditional way of making a guitar. As you can see from the video after the jump, they have abandoned the strings for a touchscreen. The video also shows that the Kitara can do some very interesting things, and can make some very interesting sounds. In fact, there are some noises it makes that sound like a synthesizer, rather than a guitar. This Kitara has about 28 frets as well. I’m wondering why Misa Digital didn’t just make a giant iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad accessory that could do what the Kitara could do. That way, there would be an App for these interesting things that it could do. It could be a “player guitar”! I suppose the Kitara is an instrument of the future. I can’t help but wonde

Hands on with the Kensington Pro Fit Washable Keyboard

Image
Whenever I get a chance to try out a keyboard to review for a post, it is my tradition to write the article about it on the keyboard itself. Most of these keyboards are all alike, and this one isn’t wireless like the Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750. It is USB and PS2 compatible, and it is good to go if you want to wash it. When I say washable, I mean that you can run the keyboard under a running faucet with soap, disinfectant, or bleach, and then air dry it. It’s all good, just keep the connector out of the water. I would imagine that this would be the perfect keyboard to have around in a medical facility, where germs and other bloodborne pathogens are a job hazard. It even has built-in antimicrobial material for “continuous microbe resistance”. I do have one complaint about the 104-key layout. The right Shift key is quite far away from where I normally rest my pinky finger. I suppose that I could adapt to that, but I don’t know how long it would take. T

Skatecycle gets a Tron Legacy Makeover

Image
We covered the Skatecycle before, an interesting skateboard with its wheels large enough to put the feet in. I’m very certain that we also covered Tron Legacy before, as it has quite a lot of merchandise like gaming controllers and the Zero G Light Cycle. I guess Alon Karpman felt combining the two would be a good idea, which is why the Brooklyn Workshop created this Tron Legacy Skatecycle. I suppose that it is a good idea, because the skatecycle certainly looks like an ankle-high version of the light cycle from the Tron franchise. It was probably easy to create the colors and glow in the dark effects that are customary in the world of Tron. It’s enough to make Jeff Bridges wish he really was a young man so that he could try it out. Not the Tron Legacy computer generated version that they created. This is a DIY project, and there doesn’t seem to be a plan to market this. I’m sure that if Tron Legacy is a hit of Avatar proportions, there will be a demand for somet

Paper Watch has you as the designer

Image
Love to tell the time? Well, you can now do so in style with the Paper Watch. This is one timepiece that has you as the designer, and it is dirt cheap to boot at £7.99. Apart from that, what makes it stand out from the rest of the crowd is this – it is truly unique and one of a kind, something even after forking out tens of thousands for a Swiss-made watch cannot net you. Cheap yet uncommon, this digital watch comes encased in tear resistant paper-style material with a matching strap, enabling you to customize it with just about any kind of doodles, designs or scrawlings that you fancy. Just make sure that you have an artistic streak to you and you’re good to go – as long as you visualize this to be a blank canvas on your wrist. Basically, it is touch and go, depending on how artistically inclined you are.

Voice Clarifying Amplifier

Image
When we get older, different parts of our body start to break down and not function as before. For some of us, it is our vision that starts to deteriorate, and for others, their hearing. Well, good thing there are advancements made in the field of technology that will correct such situations to a certain extent without the need for surgery. The Voice Clarifying Amplifier is pretty much self-explanatory, as this digital earpiece will amplify and clarify voices while minimizing distracting background noise. Inside, there lies an advanced microchip that will amplify any human speech frequencies while dampening background noise in order for spoken words to be clearly audible. This works differently from lesser analog models that merely make all sounds louder, as it is a superior digital earpiece that specifically amplifies voice pitch so words are easier to discern. Nice to know it comes with a rechargeable battery inside as well, making it work for up to 10 hours after a doz

Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 fills a niche in the smartphone market

Image
Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X8 is one smartphone that is touted to fill the gap in the smartphone market, in particular, meeting the needs of consumers who are finding a slew of touchscreen smartphone handsets too large or too small for them. In other words, it fits your hand snugly, and work just fine for those digits of yours without getting in the way or creating an unsightly bulge in your pocket. Of course, another important factor to consider these days would be pricing, as these are economically trying times, so every penny saved is always more than welcome, and the Xperia X8 certainly does its part to make sure you do not spend more than you should even on an advanced smartphone. Touting to bring the best of both worlds into one single device, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 will have features taken from both the Xperia X10 and mini. Already meant to be available globally from October this year, it is even tipped to attract all the more phone users to the smartphone marke

Hitachi outs first one-disk, 7mm 500GB hard drive in the industry

Image
Hitachi is first off the blocks with the one-disk, 7mm 500GB hard drive, adding yet another feather to their already illustrious cap. This is one piece of hardware that will definitely find a comfortable fit across many devices, as it hits the industry’s sweet spot where the 2.5-inch hard drive market is concerned. We’re talking about the spanking new thin and rugged Travelstar Z5K500 drive which enables innovative designs for ultra-portable consumer electronics devices, notebooks, netbooks and compact industrial systems. More on the Travelstar Z5K500 as we dive into the meaty part of the post after the jump. Currently, the Travelstar Z5K500 is peerless within the industry, as it remains as the only 500GB one disk product and the only second generation 7mm product family. This is a clear push by Hitachi to move from 9.5mm 2.5-inch drives to 7mm 2.5-inch drives, and since it now comes with a 500GB capacity, it will complement the rest of its ‘family’ members of 320GB and

Gaming Gadgets

Image
I saw postings on this subject in the middle of the week, and I thought, “surely I have better things to post about than this”. It is Friday, which means that most of my sources don’t really have much to report about before the weekend. Without further ado, here are the Sega Toylets. Yes, it’s name is a joke, and the bathroom humor is going to abound when you hear what this is about. The Toylets make a video game out of urinal. There is a video after the jump if you want to see it in action. Don’t worry, it is not NSFW, because there is a statue of a cherub taking a whizz instead of a guy. I believe that the point of the game is to aim on a certain spot on the urinal, and your point value will increase as you…flow. I believe that there is one level where peeing in the right place raises a woman’s skirt. This would be an easy spot to insert a joke about what happens when you raise up the woman’s skirt entirely. That would be NSFW. I believe that there is a m

Remote Controlled Grappler

Image
Wonder what little Jimmy is going to grow up into? Well, perhaps you might want to pique his interest in being a young construction foreman with the Remote Controlled Grappler. This rather cute little superstructure of sorts is capable of rotating 360º (with beeping to boot), extending its arm, raising and lowering it at the same time, coupled with its twin-jawed grapple that opens and closes. All that movement is controlled with a remote which looks like the same kind found in real life large earth moving equipment. As for the grappler itself, it can move forward, backward, left, and right on two treaded tracks. The grapple comes with five interlocking rubber-tipped teeth which can secure small objects including pencils, balls, or action figures. When idle, just give the ignition key button a go and watch it get jolted into action. Interestingly enough, it even comes with a horn that warns other imaginary workers in the vicinity that you’re about to let her rip. Nice to

Password Vault helps your failing memory

Image
You know how it is these days – there are just way too many passwords to remember what with numerous user accounts of various social networking sites, emails and what not. Not only that, no longer can you just use “password” as your password, as many sites require a minimum length of characters as well as a healthy mix of numbers and letter. Well, the Password Vault will definitely come in handy, as this smartphone sized device is capable of holding account information for website addresses, usernames, passwords, and ATM PINs securely, storing them for immediate retrieval. It will work differently from password information that is stored on a computer, since your passwords are stored offline in the vault’s memory. This makes sure that sensitive information within can never be compromised – not unless someone close to you nicks it away and uses brute force hacking to figure out its content. The Password Vault comes with a slide out keyboard, where you can also key in ad

Innergie mCube Slim Universal Adapter

ago, I have had the charging cable fail on me twice. Replacing it has been a costly endeavor of about $70 to $100. I figure that the Innergie mCube Slim Super Compact Universal Adapter would be a good thing to have around in case my next adapter fails me, which seems to be a two-year event. The Innergie mCube Slim has a wide range voltage input which is good for charging a wide range of laptops. It can handle 15-21 volts, with a wattage requirement of 65W. It has a bundle of tips for laptops which include Acer, Asus, Compaq, Dell, Fujitsu, Gateway, HP, IBM, Lenovo, MSI, Samsung, Sony, and Toshiba. The unit itself connects to the wall via AC outlet, and it has a USB port for charging mobile phones, GPS devices, game consoles, e-book readers, as well as iPods and other MP3 players. The mCube Slim is very energy efficient, but I will have to say that it gets really hot when it is plugged in. I had it adjusted for the right voltage, but I wouldn’t leave it plugged in

The Wasabi Smoke Alarm – Honey, wake up! I think I smell sushi

Image
I don’t know about you guys, but my whole family could sleep through a tornado. Every morning various alarms go off in our household and a half hour later, they are still ringing, and we are all still snoring. Usually, there is at least one light sleeper in a house to save the day, but not here. I guess we still have hope for a safe nights sleep, a fire extinguisher company in Japan has developed a smoke alarm that instead of producing an ear-piercing siren, it spews forth a chemical called ally isothiocynate, which is the compound that provides the kick to horseradish, mustard, and wasabi. In tests on actual sleeping people, the strong smell of wasabi woke up most of the subjects in less than 2 minutes without causing any damage or irritation to the eyes, nose or mouth. No word on whether or not they craved soy sauce, or a small plate of ginger. The device has generated some interest, primarily as an alarm system for hearing impaired guests at hotels and is being marke

Huey the Color Copying Chameleon Lamp

Image
Have you watched Disney’s Rapunzel just yet? For those of you who live Stateside, that isn’t the name of the movie, as you might be more familiar with Tangled. Either way, it is the same, and who could forget about Pascal, the name of the super cute chameleon? Well, a similar idea has been incorporated into the real world, which is Huey the Color Copying Chameleon Lamp. ThinkGeek’s latest $29.99 offering is actually an electronic glowing chameleon lamp which can dynamically match the color of whatever he sits on. Yup, that’s right, place Huey down on top of a green notebook and he will match the color with his unique, glowing skin after giving him a loving squeeze. He doesn’t do this via magic, but two white LEDs located underneath which relies on a sophisticated optical sensor will determine the right color, where he will then adjust the shade of numerous multi-color LED’s imbedded in his body. Who would’ve thought that something like this would actually exist, eh?

Vizio has new 3D TV for the masses

Image
This year’s CES certainly saw the introduction of 3D TVs from major manufacturers, and somehow, we are not surprised at all that among all the big players, there are also smaller manufacturers who want a piece of this potentially lucrative pie. Vizio is among one of them, consistently churning out quality stuff without breaking the bank, and they’re back with their 65″ Theater 3D Edge Lit Razor LED LCD HDTV alongside support for Vizio Internet Apps. Vizio’s incorporation of their own Theater 3D technology will deliver a superior alternative to conventional 3D by utilizing battery-free, affordable and lightweight 3D glasses. The use of such glasses results in less eyestrain compared to current power-consuming “Active Shutter” technology – something to think about if you have a heart for the environment. Also, the 65″ XVT3D650SV holds the distinction of being Vizio’s largest HDTV to date, and will arrive in time for the holiday season, so you can wow family and friends wh

Razer Scarab does the mousepad thing

Image
When it comes to serious, hardcore gaming, many gamers are extremely particular about the kinds of hardware they use. Most of them would want to settle for nothing but the best, and when it comes to gaming peripherals, surely the name Razer will strike a chord with you? After all, that brand has rolled out more than just a handful of high quality gaming products in the past, especially with their mice and more recently, mousepads. Yup, no point having the best mouse in the world if your playing surface is awful – it is somewhat similar to Arsenal visiting Old Trafford and complaining about the poor pitch condition after that. Yes, I know that I’m biased because I support the Gunners, but that’s an example for us fanboys to visualize! Back to the main event – Razer’s in the limelight today because of their latest mousepad, the Razer Scarab. This next generation hard gaming mouse mat will take off where its predecessor, the Razer Destructor, left. Boasting a Razer Fractal 2.

HoverSpy Video Cam R/C Copter

Image
Summer is long gone and now we are experiencing the bitter chill of winter, but that does not mean you cannot have fun outdoors, right? If you’ve got a voyeuristic streak in you, then the HoverSpy Video Cam R/C Copter might be just your cup of tea after forking out $79.99 for this puppy. Sporting a professional metal body, this unique helicopter comes with a 3-channel control and built-in gyro, also carrying along a tiny embedded video camera that can capture amazing video at your bidding. All it takes is a simple press of a button on the remote and you’re good to go, where another press will also stop recording. All recorded video can then be downloaded over to a computer for future viewing. As long as it is under zero wind conditions, the HoverSpy Video Cam R/C Copter is capable of taking to the air at over 150 feet high. All video will be stored on a microSD memory card, and it has a controlling range of a few hundred feet. At least you can check out just what your nei

Electro Hub universal wireless charger to debut at CES 2011

Image
We have reported on many supposedly wireless chargers before, such as the Powermat and Wildcharger. There was also that one from Energizer that is Q1 certified, so that someday, we will all just lay down our mobile devices on charging pads and we’ll say good-bye to our charging cords forever. This is the ElectroHub, another wireless charging station to join the club, and is planned to make its shining debut at CES 2011. As someone who is thrilled to see that their invitation to CES has been accepted, I can’t wait to see it. One thing that is promised to make the ElectroHub unique is that it occasionally doesn’t require the device to have a special case, but actually provides ElectroHub batteries, which come in both AA and AAA. That means that you can take any device that takes those aforementioned batteries, like a Wiimote, and swap it out for an ElectroHub one. As far as the devices with non-replaceable batteries, it does require a protective case that works as a co

Augmented Reality, now in candy form

Image
We have talked about augmented reality more than once on this site, and usually it is about putting things in front of a webcam to create some interesting 3D graphics that the user can manipulate by moving the object around. This would be the first time that I have seen augmented reality come in the form of taste and not sight. I’m not certain whether you can call it augmented reality, really, but hey, we might as well use the buzzword. Keio University’s TagCandy allows the user to put a lollipop candy on some sort of fancy stick, and then connect the stick to a computer. Apparently, the user can control the taste by controlling the vibrations that will come to his or her mouth. Apparently, if you want fizzy soda or crisp apple, that is totally a matter of programming. Check out the video after the jump for more. Then there are other flavors that aren’t part of the usual flavor wheel including fireworks, with vibrations and “explosions” to simulate a Fourth of J

LG STEAM DISHWASHERS – GOOD FOR YOU AND YOUR DISHES

Image
Theres a big difference between what I wish my dishwasher could do, and what it actually does. I guess if I’m trying to be honest, I pretty much wash my dishes BEFORE I put them in the machine, and my grandmother’s china has never even seen the inside of a dishwasher, until now. The folks over at LG have revolutionized dishwashing with the advent of the Steam Dishwasher. No longer do you need to run separate cycles for crusted pots and pans and delicate glassware. This baby lets you choose different spray settings for the top and bottom racks with their Dual Intensity Mode. This line of LG dishwashers also has a cycle that will quickly and carefully rid your precious china of all the dust it has accumulated because you never wanted to actually use it. All the while using less water and the gentle power of steam. It has an adjustable 3rd rack built in food disposer and an incredibly quiet operation. The new LG Studio Series Fully Integrated Steam Dishwasher can be in you

Handheld Attack DVR – Personal protection, and a witness all in one

Image
I live in New York City, so I guess I am used to being pretty vigilant about my personal safety. I mean, you never just walk down the street in the big city and not pay attention to whats going on around you. And lets face it, what’s going on around you isn’t always good. Actually, we have reached a point in our society where we all need to be just a bit more careful, but what are our options? Well, the Handheld Attack-Dvr offers one you may not have heard of. When made active, the Attack DVR will produce a blinding led light as well as a piercing 90 plus decibel noise, all while recording video at the same time. Thats right, a witness to the crime scene hidden in a unit that looks like pepper spray. The unit is small enough to be held discreetly in your hand or attached to a keychain. It records audio and color video, emits a blinding light and a loud sound that can easily attract attention or scare off a potential attacker. Equipped with a built in rechargeable batte

SkyKap – It’s like a caddie in your hat

Image
Let’s face it, to some of us golf is more than just a game. Okay, to some of us, it’s a lot more. Some of us are completely addicted to it. In fact, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sat around on a Sunday and wondered just how long it was going to take that golf loving husband of mine to come home. Geez. Maybe the SkyKap Advisor, is just the thing to get him home faster. A hands free, voice activated microcomputer GPS system contained in the brim of a regular golf hat. With some pretty amazing technology, The Advisor provides personal audio responses activated by the golfer’s commands. The Advisor gives the distance to greens, bunkers, water, boundaries and a whole lot more. First, your completely devoted and unselfish spouse (who just happens to play golf every single weekend) searches and downloads course information by hooking their hat to the PC using the supplied USB cable. Incidentally, if your beloved’s course is not mapped, the hat will actually record green

Animated e-Reader for tots

Image
It’s amazing how quickly kids grow up these days. the one thing that strikes me is just how much our kids want to be like us. It’s not always a good thing, I mean my 7 year old wants to wear makeup and have a cell phone. But there’s a product about to hit the market that might work to a parents advantage. The Cruz Storypad is a full color, animated, touchscreen interface storybook e-reader for kids. It can also play, music, pictures, videos and games, making it a fully blown personal entertainment device. Easy to use, with intuitive controls and made with kids in mind, in other words, durable and spill resistant. With a full color display and 1 GB on board storage, it includes an SD card slot for expansion. The Storypad utilizes a rechargeable Li-Ion battery and comes preloaded with 10 animation books and 3 interactive educational games. Comes in green, blue or pink. I’d like to see my kid with an e-reader in her hands instead of some of the other electronics she has gotten used to. It

wireless audio solution for your car

Image
I love my iPod, and I especially love my music collection, what I don’t love is trying to listen to my iPod in the car. I hate driving with earbuds and my stupid little portable speaker just doesn’t cut it. But since the introduction of Airplay, Apple’s new streaming technology that allows audio (photos and video) to be streamed from any iOS device to another iOS device, I knew good things were about to happen. Enter PhotoFast, the newest way to listen to your tunes, the way you want to, in your car. After what appears to be a somewhat labor intensive, although pretty straightforward installation, this cool little black WIFI box will automatically turn on when you start your car and will connect with your WIFI enabled device, streaming your music library through your stereo system. Very nice. You will have the ability to pause, fast forward and rewind using your iPod. The PhotoFast is designed to transmit high quality sound. Works with iPad, iPod an

Midland SubZero Headphones

Image
Some of you out there simply cannot live without your music, which is why having a pair of headphones is of the utmost importance. Well, since it is winter for those living in the northern hemisphere, it makes perfect sense to wear a pair of headphones if you’re going to go all out with portable music, and why not do it in style wit the Midland SubZero Headphones? Available in black, camouflage and white shades for £34.99 a pop, it not only doubles up as a pair of headphones, it also works as stylish earmuffs to keep your two hearing organs nice and warm (at least on the outside). The Midland SubZero Headphones even comes with a clever cable-mounted remote/mic which allows you to take calls wherever you are, keeping your hands free to do whatever else they were tasked to do at that point in time. Suitable for everyone except for folks living in the tropics, and for obvious reasons.

Radio Flyer Classic Bumper Car

Image
Bumper cars belong to the realm of carnivals and fun fairs, eh? Well, apparently not any more these days, especially when you have the $59.99 Radio Flyer Classic Bumper Car. This classic piece of work can now be enjoyed every single day, guaranteed to drive you nuts if you’re sick and tired of fun fair ditties. After all, it will come with seven sounds which are activated with bumping action. This wall-friendly bumper is safe to play at home, since it won’t mark your walls or furniture thanks to foam bumpers. Purchasing multiple cars are perfect for kids aged 1 to 3 to bump into each other, saving you a whole lot of money compared to bringing them to the fun fair frequently and forking out dollar after dollar for them to have some fun. Something tells me that the age range for this toy won’t make it too appealing for adults who are looking for value-for-money purchases in the long run….

Groegg Color Changing Thermometer

Image
While some of us take sleep for granted, others might find it a whole lot more difficult to get some shuteye even after plenty of tossing and turning around on bed. Well, the temperature does play a rather huge role in helping you doze off into dreamland, but that’s easy for adults to adjust – turn on the air conditioner, pull over an extra blanket, but how about your little one who doesn’t know how to communicate yet? The Groegg Color Changing Thermometer will step in here, as this $34.99 device works as it is named – it will reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), making sure it is yellow when a baby’s bedroom is maintained at 61-67°F to prevent SIDS. Should it get too hot, then it will turn red, while going blue when vice versa. Not only that, it functions as an adorable nightlight as well for the uninitiated. Too bad it doesn’t run on batteries but needs to be plugged into a power outlet all the time.

180s Ear warmers with headphones

Image
The weather is turning cold quickly, and in another 2 minutes I’m not going to relish putting little cold plastic earbuds in my frozen ears. But that’s not to say I won’t want to listen to my music. So now what? Well sometimes, though I’ll admit it’s not very often, a product comes along that just makes perfect sense. Simple as they are, such is the case with 180s earmuffs, these soft shell, Thermolite® Active insulation muffs are warm and stylish and offer superb wind resistance. The best part is, some of these muffs actually have stereo headphones built right in. These comfy earmuffs feature a patented behind the head design and are fully adjustable for all head types.Your 180’s are also collapsable and the cord is detachable so they will fit easily in your pocket when you are not listening, or warming you ears. The 180s are compatible with all MP3 players and can easily be worn with helmets, hats or glasses. Very nice and they can be yours for around $35.00 from www

Space Coaster Marble Run

Image
Introduce a little fun to your office with the Space Coaster Marble Run, where this unique toy ought to keep you and your colleagues, awed at least for a while considering the £19.99 price tag it comes with. This is an “indescribably cool” set of sci-fi imagination which is part marble run, part physics experiment. Once you’ve gotten it up and running, just flip a switch to turn it one, place the two ball bearings in the central shaft and see them whiz around the rail at breakneck speeds. This is actually a self-perpetuating Ouroboros of a toy, and ought to keep bored colleagues’ eyes fixated on it without missing a beat. Since the balls have different routes to take, they take them randomly, making sure it offers a new viewing experience every single time.

BendDesk could change the face of desktop computing

Image
This is the BendDesk from Media Computing Group. Just looking at this picture makes me want one, badly. I can honestly say that I would probably keep my desk a whole lot cleaner if it was a screen. I have a video of it after the jump that shows a very interesting photo sorting session. You will note how they can be arranged in a row at the “bend”. What really made it interesting was the games. You will note how the horizontal area is used as a controller to zap the bad guys dominating the vertical portion of the screen. Don’t let them go around the corner! I suppose that I am looking forward to a future where I have screens everywhere on this BendDesk. I would probably have my work and a movie going on the vertical screen, and I would have a bundle of side-projects literally at my side. I’m guessing that since it has ten possible points of touch activity, the horizontal area could be a good for a keyboard. Man, I’m not certain if this would increase my producti

Conrad makes a lock to put your bike up high

Image
I’m guessing that most bike locks can be taken off using some fast-filing skills or some very sharp Sawzall. However, what if there was a way to make it very inconvenient for a thief to get to a bicycle because it was high up on a lamppost? This is apparently the idea from Conrad, a German toy and model company who made a very interesting bike lock made from a motorized skateboard. You can watch a video of their accomplishment after the jump. Just be warned that most of the video is in German with some sporadic English. You will note the hexagonal shape seems to embrace the lamppost. I am assuming that lampposts are of a standard circumference. Anyway, it is then as easy as mounting the bike on the frame. Then, at a touch of a button on a remote control, the bike goes up like it is in an elevator. No thief is going to be climbing a lamppost to steal a bike, it is just too much effort and way too public of a crime to get away with. Yes, the only person who will be

Headbanger Chat Headset for Call of Duty

Image
You know that a video game is super popular when it has its own unique accessories. PDP has made several of them, like their Nunchuk for Epic Mickey plus all their Tron Legacy peripherals, put out even before the game or the movie has been released. PDP has also made the Headbanger Chat Headset, which is specifically designed for Call of Duty: Black Ops . I had a chance to check out the game over the weekend, and the game certainly lives up to all the franchise hype. This Headbanger is designed for the Wii version of the Call of Duty: Black Ops game and is also compatible with Conduit 2 . It has a “Noise-canceling microphone provides crystal-clear sound and high-quality voice input”. It is not wireless, but it does have a 10 foot long cord. So for those who want to do their Black Ops with a group of friends, you got a peripheral for it. Just pretend its a Bluetooth headset with a wire. You should be able to get the Headbanger Chat Headset at the PDP site for about $

Cowon gives glasses-free 3D to a PMP

Image
We all know that Sharp is releasing two phones that can do 3D without glasses with the 003SH and 005SH mobile phones, and Nintendo gets the 3DS. Glasses-free 3D technology is going to get another improvement as Cowon is going to make a Portable Media Player (PWP) with a 4.3 inch glasses-free 3D screen with 800 x 480 resolution. This PMP, which is currently called the Cowon 3D, will have the ability to do 1080p high definition video, not to mention other PMP features like reading ebooks, web browsing, photo viewing, and listening to music. The battery on this thing is good for about 10 hours of mobile use. I can’t help but wonder if what we are seeing is the home or menu screen to this PMP. The one thing that we don’t know, and my Source asks as well, is if this can convert 2D into 3D. I really don’t know how much 3D can really happen from 2D. I’m sure that advancements in 2D to 3D are occurring everyday, but I don’t think we are “there” just yet. I believe that t

DreamBots Ltd. presents the WheeMe massaging robots

Image
So who says that you need human hands to give you a massage? Well, you do, actually. However, if you are willing to try out an acceptable substitute to fleshy human hands touching your back, you might want to consider the WheeMe from DreamBots Ltd. The WheeMe is clearly designed to look like one of those massage wheels that a human is supposed to push across your back. Now, the creators of this massage thing could have made a robot arm to manipulate this thing, but they have made this autonomous contraption. When I say autonomous, I mean that it has a built-in sensor that will insure that it never falls off the user’s back. I’m guessing that it probably spends a lot of time on your spine. In case you are wondering if this spiky wheel might be slightly uncomfortable on your back, then you should know that my Source says are made of “soft fingerettes that provide a delightful sense of bodily pleasure”. You won’t be able to get the WheeMe now, but it should be on di

Warsaw Subway designed by BMW

Image
Well, we all know that BMW designs some high-end luxury vehicles, so why not have them design a Subway car? This is the Inspiro. Seriously, that is what it is called. It is designed by DesignworksUSA to hit Polish tracks in Warsaw sometime in 2012. You may notice its modern look, and it looks as advanced on the inside as it looks on the inside. It has a bigger interior than it looks, and it shows a lot of maps and other information for riders. Of course, if you want to make a vehicle today, then it has to be green, right? Fortunately, the lightweight chassis is made from aluminum that can cut down on energy consumption, and the body of the train itself are 97.5 percent recyclable. Just to let you know, I have no idea what the transportation is like in Poland. I think we all want an effective form of mass-transit, and this train certainly looks quite good. You will note how the bars branch out in the center pole. I’m also not certain how fast this things goes.
