Lexmark introduces the Genesis

It has been a while since we have reported on a printer from Lexmark with the Pinnacle Pro901.

They have just announced the Lexmark Genesis which is built on the same inkjet platform as other models. It is designed for professionals, home office customers, and small business owners.

One of its main features is a 4.3 inch touchscreen for an instant preview of what you are printing. The touchscreen is a window to many cloud-based apps like Stamps.com, Evernote, Box.net, and TripIt. The whole thing is made with Wireless N (IEEE 802.11n) for expanded coverage.

Also a new feature is Twitter and Facebook SmartSolutions, and allows users to scroll through and search their Twitter feeds as well as view Facebook walls and print photos from the device. The Twitter app is available now, but Facebook will be sometime next month.

The Genesis also has an “innovative Flash Scan camera technology” with a 10 Megapixel imaging sensor and can deliver “blazing scanning speeds” that enable the AIO to transfer a page from document to digital as fast as three seconds with Vizix print technology.

The Lexmark Genesis should be available sometime early next year for a price of $399 in the United States and Canada.
