Mitsubishi rolls out curved OLED display

OLED displays do not come cheap, you know, but that doesn’t mean they cannot be even more expensive – especially after you consider what Mitsubishi has done with their OLED display this time around. Using ISE 2011 as the perfect platform, the Japanese consumer electronics giant decided to roll out a curved OLED display under the Diamond Vision brand.

Having a radius of 917.15mm with a pixel pitch of 3mm, this display sports a resolution of 1920 x 256mm. According to Mitsubishi, this is a prototype at the moment, but they obviously want to introduce it to the mass market within a few months’ time. One advantage that this OLED display has over the other regular LCDs would be boasting of a far higher than your regular LCD display by up to 2 times, making it suitable for high ambient light areas including shopping malls and passenger terminals.

With an 80-degree viewing angle, regardless of whether it is horizontal or vertical, you can be sure that when this arrives, it will definitely wow ordinary folks like you and I, while costing us a pretty penny at the same time.
